How can we help you?

Welcome to our Frequently Asked Questions page.

Before we get started:

How do you integrate with People and Culture teams?

We are flexible to partner with your People and Culture team in the way that is most effective for your organization. We integrate with the culture, goals, and processes you have in place and add another layer of impact with our Leadership Development expertise, informed perspective, and coaching approach!

What if we already have a Leadership Development program in place?

We are thrilled when our clients have an existing Leadership Development strategy, plan, or approach. It means that your organization is well into the leadership development journey and that we have a great foundation to build on. Before we dive into action, our process will include meetings with your key stakeholders to understand the current landscape and considerations to ensure that our recommendations are the right fit.

How do you support the unique company culture I’ve worked so hard to nurture?

We deeply appreciate and respect strong corporate cultures (we know how difficult they can be to foster) and we partner with organizations to complement, nurture and enhance them further. By defining a Leadership Development Strategy, we obtain a clear picture of the company culture, team dynamics, and strategic business objectives so that a Leadership Development Roadmap and associated programming will build upon and improve what you’ve already worked to create.

How long does your average program take?

We partner with organizations over the long term, investing considerable time and energy up front to understand the nuances of their organization, team, systems, and processes. The vast majority of our clients have been partners of ours for years. That said, our program timelines are defined according to your organization’s customized Leadership Development Strategy, so they differ from one program to the next. For example, one cohort of a Leadership Development program may span 6-8 months. Alternatively, teams that engage with us for Team Optimization may spend a day with us once a quarter for several years!

Who should participate in Leadership Development programs?

Leadership is for everyone and within everyone. At The Coaching Studio, we like to engage with every level of an organization, in a phased cohort-based approach. Depending on objectives, we strategize a sequence for key groups – often starting with Executives and Senior Managers and making our way through each applicable level and department.

Our work together:

What do I need to do to prepare for a Leadership Development program?

Our Leadership Development Programs are tailored to the unique cultures, priorities, and objectives of each group we lead. For many programs, we will connect 1:1 with each participant to understand your specific goals, existing strengths, current challenges, and any other context that may be relevant. Ahead of, between, and following sessions, there is often pre-reading, surveys, learning-in-action assignments, and reflective exercises. These are also tailored to you, your program, and your organization.

What can I expect the experience to be like?

Our clients have described our programs as eye-opening, interactive, engaging, intense, at times uncomfortable, and always rewarding. You can expect to learn and develop alongside your peers and come away with tools, frameworks, and skills that directly impact your day-to-day work life.

I’m not sure if I see myself as a leader…

If your organization has decided to embark on a Leadership Development journey, and you’ve been invited to participate, it means they see you as a leader and sense your leadership potential! Not all leaders are people managers. Part of our kick-off together will include defining the role of a leader and creating common language and alignment around what leadership entails at your organization. By the end of our engagement, we hope that you will confidently see yourself as a leader.

How much time will a Leadership Development program take from my week or month?

When you are invited to participate in a leadership program, we will also send you information regarding the program goals and structure, clearly outlining the time commitment involved. While you will see invitations for the scheduled collective development sessions, there is learning that will take place outside these times. Most of that will occur “on-the-job” as you integrate your enhanced skills, tools, and frameworks into your day-to-day work. There may also be regular connections with learning partners, relevant reading and resources, reflection, 1:1 coaching and/or capstone projects, depending on your specific program.

Do you offer 1:1 Executive Coaching?

Yes! 1:1 Executive and Leadership Coaching are core offerings at The Coaching Studio. Our Leadership Consultants have coached thousands of leaders across borders and industries. 1:1 coaching has proven to be most effective when integrated with an organizational Leadership Development program or cadence of Team Optimization workshops where leaders also come together in support of their collective development, team alignment, and systems thinking. Inquire to learn more.

How do you measure success of your programs?

Measures of success are defined early on in our engagement in consultation with your key leaders and sponsors. Step one is always a Leadership Development Strategy where we chart out goals, the recommended approach, and definitions of success for your company. Wherever possible, we endeavour to assess success using existing measures in your organization, such as business KPI’s, employee engagement scores, retention rates, or other People and Culture metrics. Whether it’s amplified business outcomes, increased employee confidence, higher engagement, or more interconnected team collaboration, throughout our partnership we meet with your key stakeholders to assess impact and ensure our work together is meeting defined objectives.
