Okenge is a trusted advisor who has been a coach and a mentor to executives and aspiring executives in the public sector for more than a decade. His career in the public service spanned more than 25 years, where he served as an executive in the governments of Canada and British Columbia (BC).

As Deputy Minister for the BC Public Service Agency, Okenge oversaw all aspects of human resources management affecting more than 35,000 provincial public servants, including leadership development and executive performance review. As Deputy Minister of Municipal Affairs, Okenge led the delivery of more than $700 million of infrastructure funding programs. He also led the design and delivery of the one billion dollars BC Growing Communities Funds and $450 million in critical infrastructure funding in 2023.

In 2024, Okenge’s ministry achieved the highest overall score for employee engagement and a score of 80% satisfaction with Executive Level-Management, compared to a 64% average score for the rest of the BC Public Service ministries, a 16-point difference.

Okenge also serves as an Adjunct Professor with the University of Victoria’s School of Public Administration. Okenge’s extensive experience in senior management roles allows him to act as a comprehensive sounding board for senior leaders across sectors seeking discovery, renewal, or optimal performance improvements.
